David Pearsall has been working in the Travel Industry most of his life. The love of travel started when he lived in a small town in Northern Minnesota. After his first year of college, he traveled by himself to Europe, on the first plane he’d ever been on (prop jet). Upon returning, he was ready to see the world. In 1976 he opened his first Travel Agency in Virginia, Minnesota. His dad had become Mayor of Virginia and David was subsequently elected to the City Council. Many years later with an abundant amount of travel under his belt, he moved to California and eventually opened a wholesale travel company. Now at age 72 and after being retired, his love of travel and helping clients have an easy and wonderful experience, he couldn’t stay away from it, and now works out of his home. David and his wife Carole live in Peoria, AZ.
For many years David had the dream to take his dad and the survivors of Wake Island back to where it all happened. His extensive knowledge of the travel industry assisted him in making this dream become a reality. This is his story, the story of his father and the marine and civilian Defenders of Wake Island. Now he decided to write this book for their progeny and generations yet unborn, so these heroic men shall never be forgotten.
